In November 1945, mere months after the official surrender of Germany and Japan, the International Military Tribunal convened on the German city of Nuremberg to present evidence of “crimes against humanity” by the Nazi high command. Their guilt was all but predetermined, yet the way in which the American, British, French and Soviet delegations would make their case was far from decided.
