Lt: Rugilė sėdėjo prie lango savo bendrabučio kambaryje.
En: Rugilė sat by the window in her dorm room.
Lt: Kieme buvo rudens popietė, o medžiai krašte varvino geltonus lapus.
En: It was an autumn afternoon outside, and the trees at the edge were shedding their yellow leaves.
Lt: Ji stebėjo, kaip debesys dangstė saulę – artėjo lietus.
En: She watched as clouds obscured the sun – rain was approaching.
Lt: Rugilė turėjo išlaikyti svarbų testą, kuris padėtų jai išlaikyti stipendiją.
En: Rugilė had to pass an important test that would help her keep her scholarship.
Lt: Ji nekantravo, bet kartu ir nerimavo.
En: She was eager, but also anxious.
Lt: "Rugile, ar tau viskas gerai?
En: "Rugile, are you okay?"
Lt: " – paklausė Dainius, jos kambario draugas.

En: "I'm afraid I won't make it if it starts to rain," she replied.
Lt: "Man reikia vykti dviračiu, bet šiais debesys nesąžiningi.
En: "I need to go by bike, but these clouds are unfair."
Lt: "Dainius gūžtelėjo pečiais.
En: Dainius shrugged.
Lt: "Kodėl nesiimi metro arba taksi?
En: "Why don't you take the metro or a taxi?"
Lt: "Rugilė sukrizeno.
En: Rugilė giggled.
Lt: "Neturiu metro pinigų ir laikas jau senka.
En: "I don't have money for the metro, and time is running out."
Lt: "Staiga lietus prasidėjo.
En: Suddenly, the rain started.
Lt: Lašai plisnojo į languotą užuolaidą.
En: Drops splattered against the checkered curtain.
Lt: Garsas tapo vis stipresnis, primindamas šuoliuojančio žirgo tres.

En: "I don't, but I need to think of something quickly."
Lt: "Justina šyptelėjo.
En: Justina smiled.
Lt: "Žinau vieną vaikiną kitame koridoriuje.
En: "I know a guy in the other corridor.
Lt: Jis turi automobilį ir galėtų paskolinti.
En: He has a car and might lend it.
Lt: Gali padėti?
En: Can you help?"

En: Rugilė's eyes lit up.
Lt: "Justina, tu nuostabi!
En: "Justina, you're amazing!

En: Could you help me call him?"
