“What’s Love Got to do With it” with Jada Edwards
Dec 8, 2025·—
—
We all have “love issues.” John 13:35 says that love is to be our identifying mark as Christians – not our wisdom or spiritual gifts or activity – but being a loving person is difficult. Jada Edwards has a new book out called A New Way to Love Your Neighbor that she wrote out of a season where she struggled to love well. The Lord revealed to her that she couldn’t be the originator of grace for other people. She needed God to reveal His love for her specifically, continually, so she’d be filled up with love to give. Jada and the Perrys explore the definition of agape love in which the person initiating the love determines the value of the one they love. They talk about how Biblical love for others almost always requires decision – deciding to love – instead of affection. And ultimately, love needs wisdom to be effective. We need to slow down, pray, and ask Holy Spirit to guide us in how to love. A Conversation About Anxiety with Blair Linne
Dec 1, 2025·—
—
Before they were podcasters, the Perrys did spoken-word poetry, and this week’s guest had a profound impact on them as one of the first “viral” Christian poets online. Blair (Wingo) Linne joins Jackie and Preston to talk about her new book, Made to Tremble: How Anxiety Became the Best Thing That Ever Happened to My Faith . Blair discusses how past traumas – including the sudden death of her infant brother and a car accident that totaled their family vehicle – shaped her present anxiety and how that anxiety drove her even closer to the Lord. She explains how all of Scripture points to peace as a person – God is our peace, which means that peace is not a result of our circumstances. Blair’s encouragement is to find the Lord and trust that He’s going to be with you, even if He has you trembling for the rest of your life. Turning the Cheek and Forgiving Offenses with Yana Conner
Nov 17, 2025·—
—
The Perrys are joined by Yana Conner, a writer and theologian passionate about understanding the character of God. Her new book, Living Beyond Offense , digs into the idea that forgiveness is at the heart of our faith. Why’s that? Because every time we forgive, we put the gospel on display. Yana shares honestly about writing this book while wrestling with her own relationships. She talks about how “turning the other cheek” is meant to restore and not enable, why God calls us to be “shalom makers,” and how forgiveness is less about forgiving yourself but about living forgiven. The Grief and Relief of Obedience in Dating
Nov 10, 2025·—
—
Lean into part two of the Perrys’ conversation with Melody and CD Fabien for even more real talk on dating discipleship. They unpack what healthy boundaries look like – whether you’re dating later in life or after a previous marriage – and share why they believe couples should enjoy long dating seasons and short engagements. CD challenges men to consider what true, Christ-like leadership looks like in dating, with the reminder that Scripture calls both husbands and wives to “submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.” The Fabiens also acknowledge that godly dating often involves discernment and sometimes grief-filled obedience, yet they encourage singles that even in those hard moments, peace can be found in the pain. Dating Discipleship 101 with Melody and CD Fabien
Nov 3, 2025·—
—
Melody and C.D. Fabien made headlines for waiting to kiss until marriage. Now more than a decade later, they're doing "dating discipleship" work with couples who feel confused about the in between, wanting to date intentionally before getting engaged. In this conversation with the Perrys, the Fabiens discuss what it means to date with godly wisdom, lead with integrity, and pursue purity that lasts beyond the wedding day. Melody and C.D. say that obedience is inconvenient but it's always worth it. They make a case for why living together before marriage is actually spoken against in the Bible, and they offer encouragement around boundaries, conviction, repentance and community. This is just part one of the conversation. Listen in and then come back next week to hear the rest. When Creativity and Humility Meet: A Conversation with Tye Tribbett
Oct 27, 2025·—

Tye Tribbett is a Grammy Award-winning gospel artist who infuses his songs with scripture, teaching listeners about God as he sings. In 1996 he created “Greater Anointing,” a choir of his family and friends, and ever since, he’s been writing Jesus-focused music to start conversations, not condemn. Tye talks with the Perrys about humility, ambition, and what it means to stay kingdom-focused in an industry obsessed with viral success. They unpack the challenges of today’s gospel music scene – from sensationalism to the pressure to perform – and the importance of slowing down for ministry moments and walking closely with God. Discipling Kids in a Sexually Broken World With Laurie and Matt Krieg
Oct 20, 2025·—
—
Even thinking about engaging in a conversation with kids about sexuality can feel scary, but Laurie and Matt Krieg have a heart to help parents approach the topic without fear. The Kriegs join Jackie and Preston to discuss moving beyond the shame-filled messages of purity culture – what was a “theology of no” – instead to a theology of goodness and flourishing. They talk about being your child’s “anchoring bias” – the first voice a child hears on these topics – and why it’s so important to respond like Jesus when your child is exposed to something online or confesses. Laurie and Matt also share about a new video series called “Raising Kids,” created with other thought leaders including Jon Tyson, John Mark Comer, Preston Sprinkle, and the Perrys, among many others. This 8-part video series is designed for parents of kids 12 and under, covering topics such as porn prevention, body safety, gender, and belonging. https://courses.christian-sexuality.com/courses/raising-kids Check out Laurie and Matt’s upcoming book, Raising Wise Kids in a Sexually Broken World: A Gospel-Centered Approach, releasing January 2026: https://www.amazon.com/Raising-Wise-Sexually-Broken-World/dp/1514012146 Scripture references: Psalm 88:1-5 This Episode is Sponsored By: https://magicspoon.com/PERRY — Get $5 off your next order! https://policygenius.com/perry — Compare free life insurance quotes from top companies and see how much you could save. The Art of Stewarding Your 5 Loaves and 2 Fish: A Convo with Dallas and Amanda Jenkins
Oct 13, 2025·—

Dallas and Amanda Jenkins, creators of The Chosen , join the Perrys to talk about how God used one movie’s box-office failure to bring about the now globally popular television series about the life of Jesus. The Jenkins talk about bringing their “five loaves and two fish” to God, letting Him handle the multiplication, and creating from a place of dependence rather than success. They discuss what it looks like to lead with authenticity, use “sanctified imagination” while staying true to Scripture, and keep their focus on honoring the character of Jesus. The conversation also covers how they handle criticism of their handling of Scripture and how they view The Chosen as both creative work and ministry. Infertility and Finding God After Unanswered Prayer with Jennifer Lucy Tyler
Oct 6, 2025·—

Every one of us will, at some point in our lives, come to realize that our faith alone can’t produce everything we want, when we want it. It’s hard to trust the Lord when we’re praying prayers that haven’t been answered. Jennifer Lucy Tyler joins the Perrys to talk about what she’s learned about God’s sovereignty through her journey of infertility. Neither Blue Nor Red: Being a Disciple in a Culture War
Sep 29, 2025·—

Social media has been a contentious place after the murder of Charlie Kirk, and the public mourning of his death has felt confusing and concerning for many people. How should we as Christ followers respond in such a polarizing time? In this honest conversation, Jackie and Preston sit down with Justin Giboney, cofounder and president of the AND Campaign, to process through what happens in our hearts – and in the church – when tragedy plays out in the public square. Why do we turn to social media to have our feelings validated? Are we experiencing a true gospel revival or a reawakening of ideological conservatism? Does the Church Need a Rebrand? A Conversation with Dr. Eric Mason
Sep 15, 2025·—
—
What do you think of when you hear the word ‘church’? There’s confusion and a lack of clarity about what it means to be a church, but today’s guest wants to re-present the fundamentals so that we’re more responsible with our witness. Dr. Eric Mason is full of wisdom and he’s got a new book out September 30 called Rebranding the Church: Restoring the Image of God's People in the World . Dr. Mason says we’ve over-corrected in a lot of ways as Christians, going from “holier than thou” to “holiness don’t mean nothing.” We aren’t committed to maturing in our faith. We don’t have a sober-minded view of our own sin, of other people, or of Christian leadership. We’re driven by humanistic individualism, thinking we can do this life apart from the community. So let’s talk about getting back to the church God intended for us to be a part of. Navigating Faith While Playing A Game: A Conversation With BB26 Winner Chelsie Baham
Sep 8, 2025·—

Chelsie Baham is not just the winner of Season 26 of Big Brother – she also loves Jesus and was in full-time ministry up until she joined the game last summer. In “Big Brother,” sixteen strangers are locked in a house for 90 days with cameras and microphones running 24/7 as they compete for a gigantic sum of money. Jackie has watched “Big Brother” since Season 2, and she loves it because of the psychology involved, understanding people’s thoughts and motives as she watches the competition. The Perrys talk with Chelsie about how ministry – and specifically ministry in California – helped her in the game. And together they hold the tension between our beliefs as Christ followers and the perceived need to lie and manipulate to get ahead in a reality TV game show, which is something Chelsie said she wrestled with every day. Part 2: Dating After 30, Singleness, and Other Questions Answered
Sep 2, 2025·—

Here’s part 2 of the Perrys’ conversation with Megan Ashley and Ebenezer Endiryas about dating in your 30s. Jackie, Preston, Megan and Ebenezer left you on a cliffhanger. “Should we be more focused on dating people that we’re in community with?” The group picks up the conversation there, talking about creating environments where someone you’ve met online can be brought into your community. They talk about how unkind it is to lead someone on, how men’s lack of emotional connection with other men impacts how they experience women, and how beneficial it would be if singles stopped thinking about “the one” and reflected more on God’s sovereignty. At the end of the day, all of these questions around dating and singleness are nuanced. It’s not black and white – these conversations require wisdom. Aug 25, 2025·—

No one is really talking about what it’s like to be single in your 30s, or after you’re divorced or widowed, but it’s time to have a mature conversation about it. The Perrys are joined by two friends – Ebenezer and Megan – to talk about their separate experiences. Ebenezer Endiryas is a single pastor who longs to be married one day, and Megan Ashley is a mom of three who was married for 14 years prior to her divorce. Both call themselves hopeless romantics, though they each now have a healthier understanding of kingdom-minded marriage and the sanctification it brings. Jackie, Preston, Megan, and Ebenezer discuss affection and intimacy, why it’s important to have realistic expectations when you marry a sinner, and what dating looks like today when more people are meeting online than in community together. This is just the first half of a two-part conversation. Be sure to tune in to the September 1 episode for even more on this discussion. Let’s Talk Gospel, CCM, and Why it Matters With Erica Cambell
Aug 18, 2025·—

Jackie and Preston are joined on the podcast by Gospel music legend Erica Campbell for a conversation on Christian genres and the role of music in our walks as Christ followers. They discuss how race and different cultural experiences factor into the music played in our churches, and how the social media algorithm influences our perception of Christian music too. Is one genre more theologically sound than another? Why is it important for us to not cut ourselves off from how we could experience God in a genre we’re not used to? And how can songwriters resist division, keep Jesus at the center, and seek to write music that will actually disciple people? The Perrys are joined by Toni Collier to talk about her new book, Don’t Try This Alone: How to Build Deep Community When You Want to Hide from Your Pain. When Christianity Gets Hard
Aug 4, 2025·—
—
Sometimes coming to Christian faith means that life gets harder and we don’t like that. We will all find ourselves in moments or seasons of discouragement, but we can wrestle through it with reverence. The main way to fight discouragement is by having a knowledge of God’s Word that helps you lean into Christ, and in this week’s episode, the Perrys walk through a number of passages to help us do just that. Scripture references: Psalm 88 John 6:60-68 Genesis 21:6 Luke 1:34 Galatians 6:6-9 Psalm 136:1-5 Hebrews 3:13 Hebrews 12:1-3 1 Peter 4:12-17 John 15:18-25 2 Corinthians 4:16-17 James 5:13 Other links: Jackie at Passion 2025 – “In Defense of Hope” “I Don’t Want to Be a Christian Anymore…” from Santee Zenobia TikTok and Instagram Subscribe to the Perrys' newsletter: https://withtheperrys.myflodesk.com/zhfus4jx1s Join Preston's discipleship community for men: https://www.patreon.com/PrestonPerry/membership To support the work of the Perrys, donate via PayPal: https://paypal.me/withtheperrys Shop BOLD Apparel: boldapparel.shop Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Figuring Out Biblical Womanhood
Jul 14, 2025·—
—
After their “Act Like a Man” episode , the Perrys thought it would be beneficial to also have a conversation on womanhood. When Jackie first became a believer, she felt as though many books she read on womanhood leaned heavily on cultural contexts or norms instead of Biblical frameworks. As she has become more comfortable in her femininity, she’s learned more about what it looks like to show up as a woman in everything God has called her to, whether that be marriage, motherhood, or ministry. Jackie and Preston discuss women’s unique interpretations of scripture because of experiences men can’t relate to, why a wife’s submission to her husband is an act of tremendous strength, and how women’s voices can be prioritized and dignified in the church. Navigating Church Culture Differences With Humility
Jul 7, 2025·—

God’s people are represented in more than just your immediate Christian circle and cultural context. And if we are as Christ followers are indwelt with the Holy Spirit, there’s always something to learn from one another. The Perrys reflect on their experiences inside different church settings, denominations, and faith expressions throughout their ministry. They’ve learned that God is too big for us to limit Him to our preferences or the church culture we’re a part of. Jackie and Preston discuss how we have to go in with open minds and humble hearts, not walking in arrogance if people’s worship looks different than ours. The Idolatry of Knowledge
Jun 23, 2025·—

Christianity is an intellectual faith, and the Lord wants us to use our minds. We see that in passages that say “Think on these things” or “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength.” But how do you know if you’ve made an idol out of knowledge? You might find yourself critiquing and correcting more than you build others up. Knowledge can be an idol when it’s solely for you and not used for the edification of the Body of Christ. In this episode, the Perrys discuss why it’s important that we pray for wisdom more than we seek after knowledge, and that we’re faithful with what we do know by actually applying it to our lives. When You Hate The Home
Jun 16, 2025·—

You won’t always have uninterrupted affection for the things God has called you to, and that’s normal. So what do you do when you feel like you hate being at home? Home can be a stressful and overwhelming place, one that is completely “others” oriented. Our spouses and kids depend on us. We have responsibilities that cannot be ignored. The mundane of our day-to-day lives makes us wrestle with both our ambition and our apathy. Ultimately, we often dislike “home” because it reminds us of our need for sanctification. The Perrys discuss what to do when we struggle with this discontentment and how the Lord can renew our minds to see home as a gift to be stewarded. Why Y'all Not Talking Bout The Cross No More
Jun 9, 2025·—
—
We are losing sight of the simplicity of the gospel message, and we’ve got to get back to the basics. In this episode, Jackie and Preston discuss why it is that we don’t focus enough on Jesus’ redemptive work on the cross. Our sin is a big reason. We forget about God’s wrath and why we need to be saved in the first place. We get caught up in a works-based idea of sanctification. The truth of the gospel becomes uninteresting as we seek greater understanding or deeper knowledge. We can also go through the spiritual disciplines – like time in the Word or prayer – without truly abiding in Christ. All of these scenarios overcomplicate our view of the cross, and it’s time we talk about it. Act Like a Man

In 1 Corinthians, Paul says, “Act like men, be strong.” But what does manhood look like? In this episode, Preston explores some of his earliest views of masculinity as a kid and what it meant to “be a man.” The development of our identity is shaped by both parents in unique ways, so the Perrys talk about the dynamics of being nurtured – or not – by a mother and a father. They also discuss the modeling of emotional maturity, the idea of attachment theory, healthy relationships with other men, and opportunities for discipleship. Let’s Talk Fasting and Prayer
May 19, 2025·—

It’s been a minute since the Perrys dedicated an episode to the topic of prayer, and they realize they pray differently today than they did back then. Just as sanctification changes who you are, it also changes your prayer life, so what do their prayers look like now? Jackie and Preston also take a look at several examples of prayer in the Bible. Scripture shows us how we can approach God when we think He is disciplining us or when we doubt He is for us. Prayer grounds us as Christians, reminding us that we can’t lean on our own understanding. Through both prayer and fasting, God wants us to quiet our souls so we become more dependent on Him.
