When your Argument Against the Book of Mormon BACKFIRES
Dec 1, 2025·—

The other day Joe Heschmeyer released a video critiquing arguments made for the Book of Mormon by comparing similar arguments made for the Koran. But does Joe have a point? Are the arguments for the Book of Mormon no better than arguments for the Koran? My friend Luke Hanson from Ward Radio sent me over some of his thoughts, and frankly, I think after watching this you will see how Joes argument backfires big time. Was Joseph Smith A Polygamist? The Hidden Dangers Of Denial | Ft Brian Hales
Oct 3, 2025·—

Did Joseph smith Practice Polygamy? We decided to explore what it would mean if the Polygamy deniers were right… and frankly, if they are right… we have some major problems. Polygamy denialist’ “Faith Package” 1. Accept the belief JS did not practice plural message. 2. Reject, as deceptions, the testimonies of the Church’s highest leaders (ERS, ZH, BS, BY, JT, WW, and LS) after 1844 regarding their eyewitness accounts of JS’s introduction of the practice of plural marriage. Accept that the Church’s highest leaders for 50+ years were deceivers. 3. Reject D&C 132 and its teachings, including those describing how JS had authority to create eternal families. 4. Reject the temple endowment because nothing concerning it was recorded during Joseph Smith's lifetime. Instead, it represents the 1877 recollection of Joseph Smith’s 1843 teachings, recorded by Wilford Woodruff, who also recalled how Joseph practiced plural marriage in 1843. 5. Reject President Russell M. Nelson’s teachings and the recent post on the Church’s website that affirm: “Joseph Smith introduced the practice, not Brigham Young.” Our Links Website: http://thoughtfulfaith.org Instagram: / thoughtful.faith TikTok: / thoughtful.faith Podcast: https://www.buzzsprout.com/1478749 DISCLAIMER: The views expressed in this video are entirely the opinion of the creator and do not necessarily reflect any officially endorsed positions of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints or channel sponsors.

Mormon Beliefs On Abortion Are More Controversial Than You Think
May 8, 2025·—
—
When most people think of religion and abortion, they picture strict, black-and-white rules. But the Mormon perspective? It’s... different. Join Jacob Hansen and Luke Hanson as they explore the doctrines of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and how it relates to abortion and why the Church might hold the positions that it does. Takeaways Latter-day Saints have a unique perspective on abortion that doesn't fit neatly into pro-life or pro-choice categories. All human life is considered valuable and equal from a theological standpoint. The definition of murder in the context of abortion is complex and varies among different belief systems. Legal implications of abortion often reflect societal views on morality and human life. Intent and knowledge play crucial roles in determining the moral weight of abortion. The church's stance on abortion includes exceptions, but these are not blanket justifications. Human bodies, even in development, are considered sacred and deserving of protection. The trauma associated with abortion can have lasting effects on women. Rape and incest are controversial exceptions in the abortion debate, raising questions about morality and justice. Reconciling church doctrine with personal beliefs about abortion can be challenging. Abortion decisions are not made lightly and involve complex moral considerations. The church's position on abortion includes a call for personal revelation and prayer. IVF presents ethical dilemmas that require careful consideration and personal judgment. Moral weight must be assessed when discussing the value of human life. Political advocacy for pro-life issues requires a nuanced understanding of the law. The pro-life movement is often misunderstood and requires clear communication of its goals. Cultural narratives heavily influence modern beliefs about rights and personal choices. Latter-day Saints should not shy away from discussing controversial topics like abortion. Engagement in political discourse is essential for advancing pro-life values. There is a growing interest in returning to foundational beliefs about God and morality.
