Sayonara Salah, World Cup Draw Torture, Villa's Parrott Moment
Dec 9, 2025·—
—
It looks like it's all over for Salah at Liverpool after an explosive 7 minute rant to anyone who would listen about how he feels he's not wanted at the club, how he's been thrown under the bus and isn't speaking to the manager. Surely, he could have just...waited a few weeks and probably wouldn't have had to deal with this problem? As Ireland are still in limbo about their World Cup 2026 participation, it meant we were subjected to a Donald Trump approved World Cup draw featuring hours of Hollywood cameos and endless performances from the likes of the Village People, to see who else would be in our group, IF we get there. It's been a bad week for Arsenal as a moment of bad judgement from Madueke see's Aston Villa go up the other end and score a winner with the last kick of the game. This must be how Hungary felt. More Man United breaking news from the past as their streak of Monday/Thursday games continues. Support the show Want to support us and also get some sweet bonus exclusive pods? Paqueta's Pleas, Caicedo Sees Red, Parrott's Panenka
Dec 2, 2025·—
—
A feisty top of the table clash between Arsenal and Chelsea ended in a draw after yellow cards galore and straight red for Caicedo. What is it about Chelsea and Battle's of the Bridges? Liverpool returned to winning ways over West Ham with a goal from Isak. But the real talking point coming out of the game was Lucas Paqueta's bizzare red card for double dissent and is equally as bizarre statements after the game. Avert your gaze Ireland bandwagoners but Troy Parrott had an absolute shocker over the weekend as he skied a last minute penalty in particularly embarrassing fashion. Too Eze for Arsenal, Pep's Rage, Palmer's Fifa Incident, The Box
Nov 25, 2025·—
—
Yet another week goes by in the Premier League and the big stories pretty much remain the same. Arsenal look like the best of the bunch as they breeze by the North London Derby thanks to an extra motivated Eze hat trick. Man City drop points yet again, but this time they have a right to be annoyed...maybe not as annoyed as Pep Guardiola was after the game. The Liverpool spiral continues with a 3-0 loss to Sean Dyche's Forrest. It can't go on like this surely? Cole Palmer was ruled out for a week due to damaging his toe on a door at home. In an incident which teammate Cucurella described as having something to do with a game of Fifa. Sky Sports unveiled their new concept 'The Box' which doesn't seem enjoyable to viewers OR participants. Support the show Want to support us and also get some sweet bonus exclusive pods? The Late Late Troy Show - Ireland Beat Hungary 3-2
Nov 17, 2025·—
—
"This is why we love football, because things like this can happen" - Troy Parrott Arguably the greatest international break in history comes to a close with one of the greatest moments ever in Irish sport, as Troy Parrott scores a last gasp winner (his third of the game!) away from home against Hungary to bring Ireland to the World Cup qualifier playoffs. A hattrick against Hungary, and a brace against Portugal for Parrott solidifies his star status. Heimir Hallgrímsson head must be spinning as it all looked SO over just a few weeks ago when Ireland were easily beaten by Armenia. We'll worry about the playoffs in March but for now we're just enjoying it mate. Thanks for listening for 300 episodes! City Are Growing, Haaland's Caveman Diet, Sunderland Stop Arsenal, The Hot Take Era Begins
Nov 11, 2025·—
—
"You don't win the league in November" were Pep Guardiola's ominous words as Arsenal finally slipped up at the top of the table while City blew past Liverpool 3-0. Are Man City back? It sure feels like it all of a sudden. Yet another loss for Arne Slot's Liverpool as the crisis worsens, are the Slot OUT cries growing louder? Erling Haaland launched a new venture as he started posting to his YouTube channel recently, revealing that he is a fan of pasturising his own raw milk and eating steaks with his hands. Sunderland moved the advertising boards in to put a stop to "Long Throw Experts" Arsenal, and it maybe worked? Yet another new era for the pod as we are just going to start spewing out whatever hot takes come to mind with no regard for if anyone will actually ever pull us up on them. Arsenal Chase Records, Spurs Stars Snub Frank, Emery Plays Slots Game, Man United Back to Zero
Nov 4, 2025·—
—
As the entire Arsenal team was seen sprinting with all of their might back from one end of the pitch to the other 92 minutes in to a 2-0 win over Burnley, it was clear to see why they are now firmly favourites for the league. And maybe they also have something beyond just winning the title on their minds now too? After a 1-0 loss to Chelsea, Spurs fans booed their team off the pitch, and in the midst of the sea of negativity, captain Mickey Van De Ven and Djed Spence refused to acknowledge manager Thomas Frank. Do they know they are in 6th? Unai Emery's Aston Villa managed to lose to Liverpool, by playing EXACTLY how Arne Slot asked them to. The haircut clock resets back to 0 as Man United drew with Nottingham Forest, a not too bad result in a good run of results for United, but is the giant hairy shadow looming over Old Trafford starting to get to the fans? Man United Drive for Five, Hard Choices for Slot, Yamal Saves The Classico
Oct 28, 2025·—
—
Manchester United are back baby. Rest in Piss the bad times 2013-2025. This is definitely a REAL dawn as Ruben Amorin beat their bogey team Brighton 4-2 at home to make 3 consecutive wins in the Premier League for Man United. What next for The Red Devils and, more importantly, what happens to that guy when he cuts his hair? Smart money is on a sharp veer into the far right. Liverpool continue to slide down the table as Brentford's long throws and pressure cooker tactics consigned Liverpool to another defeat in the Premier League. I explore the two questions that persist about Mohamaed Salah and Florian Wirtz. Can they play together, and if not, who should be dropped? The man who needs to make this decision is Arne Slot, who seems unable to reconcile with the fact that teams have changed their tactics this year when facing the champions. The classico between Real Madrid vs Barcelona had all the elements of one of the great games between these two clubs. A galaxy of stars for real madrid vs a team of uber talented La Masia teens and 5'8 and below men (Except for on loan Marcus Rashford) for Barcelona, Plenty of goals red card,s and pr,e pos,t and during the match shithousery from both sides. I recall this game via YouTube short highlights and place both sides in one of three categories of humbleness. Support the show Want to support us and also get some sweet bonus exclusive pods? Majestic Maguire, Slot's Salah Stress, Forest Want Dyche Ball
Oct 21, 2025·—
—
Who do Man United think they are? Playing a low block and not starting Sesko? Have they no honour? These were the words of Arne Slot as Man United beat Liverpool in Anfield in the Premier League for the first time since 2016. The Liverpool spiral continues with it now being 4 games lost in a row and the pressure is starting to mount on Arne Slot, especially with former boss Jurgen Klopp announcing his thoughts on potentially returning on the Diary of a CEO podcast. Man United were saved once again by the most mentally strong athlete in history, Harry Maguire. Can Ruben Amorim now go and win 3 games in a row? Or is this the latest in a long string of false dawns. As No Nonsense Hall of Famer Ange Postecoglou's sacking was confirmed pretty much straight after Forest lost to Chelsea, No Nonsense Hall of Famer Sean Dyche has been confirmed as new manager. Ireland Still Alive, Ref and Ronaldo Robbery, Dyche Potential Return, World Cup 007's
Oct 16, 2025·—
—
Ireland managed to just about cling on to World Cup qualifying hopes, with a win over 10 men Armenia in a deathly quiet Aviva stadium. Ireland also came very close to getting a draw away to Portugal, but it wasn't to be after some questionable refereeing decisions from a ref that seemed to be ecstatic to be on the same pitch as Cristiano Ronaldo. We cast an eye over some other results in the World Cup qualifiers featuring great performances from Haaland and some not so great performances from Isak and Gyokeres. Last week, we tried to see if there was a correlation between going 007 in the Premier League and being a great player. This time we're seeing which all time greats did or did not go World Cup 007. Salah Slackin', Haaland Pushing City, Ange on The Edge Again, Famous 007's in Premier League History
Oct 7, 2025·—
—
The Liverpool spiral/finding out/crisis continued as they lost their third game on the bounce, this time to a last minute Chelsea winner. Is it just as simple as the give it to Salah system starting to fail? Erling Haaland continued his dominant form with a 'proper' goal against Brentford where he showed once again that he is miles ahead of the rest..except for Nick Woltemade that is! Can Cathal remember the three games he watched this weekend? Ange Postecoglou's stint at Forest goes from bad to worse as he achieves an unprecedented managerial 007. Speaking of 007's, we take a look at some famous ones from Premier League history and see is it really as bad an omen for a signing as it seems? Liverpool's Pain Palace, Arsenal Win Ugly, Keith Andrews Masterclass
Sep 30, 2025·—
—
The curse of games past returned to haunt Liverpool as once again Crystal Palace proved to be their bogey team, with Palace winning 2-1 and now becoming the only unbeaten team in the league. Does this spell trouble for Liverpool that has been coming for a while? Or is this just a blip before they get back to extending their league at the top? The unlikable derby delivered once again as Arsenal beat Newcastle with a last minute winner. In a game where Arsenal moaned, punched and kicked their way to success. The writing is surely on the wall for Ruben Amorim as he once again failed to win back to back games at Man United. This time losing 3-1 to Brentford's Irish contingent. Also, the cat was away and so the mouse (Cathal) was hungover and missed most of this weeks football. Support the show Want to support us and also get some sweet bonus exclusive pods? Arsenal Grind out Draw, Maresca Wet n Wild in Manchester, Liverpool Edge Derby, Smoker 11
Sep 23, 2025·—
—
In a season that promised so much in the first few weeks, we have quickly devolved back into 007 and best player in the world right now posts as Liverpool go five points clear after five games played. Arsenal went conservative against Man City and eeked out a draw thanks to a 90+ minute equaliser from Martinelli. But is their failure to get at the Man City's of the world a sign that this won't be their year once again? Enzo Maresca had a tough week as he had human rights inspectors banging on the bomb squad door while also arguably throwing away a winnable game against Man United, even with their goalkeeper sent off after just a few minutes. Liverpool, as mentioned, are the team to beat this year and no one has managed it yet. But is there a big Isak shaped cloud hanging over goalscorer Hugo Ekitiké? Welcome Back Ange, West Ham's Future, Big Nick Energy, Why Are There Still Wars?
Sep 15, 2025·—

The new era of the pod continues with a real honest to goodness in person video episode that gets rudely interupted half way through! The Premier League is back after the Ireland's international incident, and its like Ange Postecoglou never left! He's cracking jokes, looking down at the floor and his team is getting absolutely torn apart by Arsenal. You'd fear for Graham Potter and West Ham as they are hammered 3-0 by Spurs. But as they slide toward relegation spots, are the fans thinking at least we aren't mid table? Big Nick Woltemade arrived on the scene with a debut goal against Wolves, putting many other slow to start Premier League strikers to shame. We also ponder should we get into IRL streaming and ask is this the worst time ever in history for a World Cup in the United States? Ireland Giants Rattle Hungary, End of Levy Era At Tottenham,Top 5 Greatest Irish Soccer moments
Sep 9, 2025·—
—
"The time for excuses is over" was the sound coming out of the Ireland camp coming into this set of World Cup qualifiers, and at 2-0 down after 20 minutes against Hungary it seemed like we were more doomed than ever.. A moment of madness that brought Hungary down to 10 men let us back into the game thanks to a non stop barrage from Jake O Brien and co. Was Matt Doherty set up for failure as Heimir's revenge? During the week, news broke that Daniel Levy was "stepping down" from his role at Tottenham, but it turns out that was code for sacked for not doing a good enough job, as the Spurs board decided they are bored of this trying to do things the right way craic. Transfer Deadline Drama, Arsenal Missed Opportunity, Man City Need Messi
Sep 2, 2025·—
—
The Transfer Window officially slammed shut and with that brings the official end of the summer. We have the full list of every single Premier League '#HereWeGo' from deadline day and take a look at some of the winners and losers of the window. Arsenal probably had a chance to get a win over Liverpool and create some distance in the race for the title, but being over cautious in the game cost them in the end. We sift through the ashes of the Man United Grimsby game and the global awakening of football fans around the world who may have been slightly fooled by United's summer and start to the season. Pep Guardiola's weirdly combative rants are starting earlier than ever this season as City lost 2-1 to Brighton which marks their second loss of the season already. Gyökeres in the Goals, Thomas Frank The Tank, Man United's Reality Check, The Tifo Era Hits New Heights
Aug 26, 2025·—
—
The second gameweek of the Premier League did a lot of zigs where we expected zags. Arsenal steamrolled Leeds 5-0, with thanks to two goals from Viktor Gyökeres, a player who everyone (us) had written off after his debut last week. Man United are firmly back in crisis mode after a devastating draw against a Fulham team that are every bit as good as them. Not everything has changed in the Premier League this year as Spurs beat Man City as is tradition. Can Thomas Frank keep this momentum going for Tottenham? Can he turn Richarlison into a consistent goalscorer? What new toys has Dominick Solanke bought? The now under investigation Crystal Palace fans have probably single handedly ended the new Tifo era in the Premier League, with an incredibly detailed hand painted cartoon of Nottingham Forest owner Mr. Marinakis. Gyökeres Tough Start, Slot Gets A Grilling, Irish Players Up Against it, Fantasy Football Team Names
Aug 19, 2025·—
—
We are so back ladies and gentlemen. As a new Premier League season kicked off with some big games and weird interviews. Liverpool kicked off the season with an emotional and controversial 4-2 win over Bournemouth. In a game which saw great performances from new signings, not so good performances from others, tributes galore to Diogo Jota and a racist fan incident. After the game, Arne Slot appeared for his mandated casual post game chat with Jamie Carragher and co. Little did Arne know that he was in for a grilling with criticism and landmine questions a plenty. While Arsenal beat Man United 1-0 thanks to some weak goalkeeping and clever set piece hassling, it was Man United fans who came out of the game feeling more positive, as they managed to look not totally incompetent. You'd fear for Brentford as they concede a set piece 10 minutes in to the new season with their ex set piece coach Keith Andrews in charge. We take a look at how fantasy football has changed over the years and how only one thing has stayed the same - the team names. A No Nonsense Premier League 25/26 Preview!
Aug 12, 2025·—
—
A new Premier League season is upon us and it's actually shaping up to be the most unpredictable in years! We talk about what we learned from most people's favourites for the title Liverpool's loss to Crystal Palace in the Community Shield. Speaking of Liverpool what is going on with Isak? And is this the year Salah starts to put his feet up? It's now or never for Arsenal it seems, which seems hugely unfair to a club that's done everything right over the last few years in terms of getting to this point. Are Man City back? Is the steamroller back up and running? Or does Rodri's new injury change things? What will become of main characters Man United as they go in to a season with a whole new front three and expectations lower than they've ever been. Tottenham surely will be improved this year with a manager that actually is trying in the league right? Mr Marinakis Masterclass, Isak Forcing a Move. Dream Hell Yeah Rotation, Gyökeres Era Begins
Jul 29, 2025·—
—
As more transfers are confirmed, it's a new era for the pod where we will be getting everyones name right - starting with Gyökeres. One of the stranger failed transfers in history came to its conclusion as Morgan Gibbs White signed a new contract with Nottingham Forest, putting an end to the 'Here We Go' to Tottenham. All thanks to the fine work of Mr Marinakis. Speaking of Mr Marinakis, what is going on with him and John Textor? And why is a new Botafogo player arriving every week to Forest? Alexander Isak seemingly told Newcastle that he wants out during the week, with Liverpool waiting in the wings. Probably a week too late for every club involved and for Hugo Ekitike. Forza Ferguson, Here We Go Gyökeres, Mbuemo Finally Moves, Ekitike's Fee
Jul 23, 2025·—
—
The transfer window kicked in to gear this week with many moves crossing from tittle tattle to "HERE WE GO!" Evan Ferguson has made the move on loan to Roma of all places. Can he restore his career to the dizzying heights of two seasons ago? Is this a sign that Brighton can get things wrong? In terms of transfers moving at a snails pace you won't find slower than two that got the full Fabrizio Romano treatment over the last few months, Viktor Gyökeres to Arsenal and Bryan Mbeumo to Man United. Great signings seemingly but has the nature of how these moves are reported sapped all of the joy out of the window. Daniel Levy seems to have activated Morgan Gibbs White's trap card, much to the annoyance of Nottingham Forest's owner. Liverpool have money to spend and they don't care who knows it as they splash over 300 million $, £ or € depending on who's asking. With Hugo Ekitike quadrupling his wages in a very un-Liverpool like move. Chelsea Win Club World Cup, The Trump Trophy, Congratulations Brighton
Jul 15, 2025·—
—
The biggest Club World Cup final in history. The first one, but still the biggest. Huge game. So important they said we have to delay the Mean Machine review. That’s how big it was. Chelsea - great club, very classy - destroyed PSG. People were shocked. I wasn’t. I’ve always said Chelsea wins when I’m watching. First team to win the new Club World Cup. First to win everything. Total domination. Very historic. I gave a beautiful halftime interview - people said it was the best ever - and then I stayed on stage for the trophy lift. Refused to leave. The crowd loved it. Chelsea said hey we want you to stay to lift the trophy I said ok. I said I already have the real trophy, thats a replica. Not real. Cole Palmer was very confused. Great guy. He loves what we're doing. What does it mean for soccer?- they like to call it football we call it soccer, A No Nonsense podcast is going to talk about it. Great podcast - much better than the Overlap they're saying. We love Will and Cathal, we do. Shaolin Soccer - Review | You Couldn't Write It

You Couldn't Write It rolls on as we go to the other side of the world to watch and review Shaolin Soccer. In a world where every movie must have a slow motion kung fu action scene, renegade wrtier/actor/director Stephen Chow's Shaolin Soccer ties the beautiful worlds of football and over the top whacky anime action together. Featuring some of the best football we've seen so far, some of the funniest dialogue we've heard and far and away the most disgusting scene of the summer. Kicking and Screaming - Review | You Couldn't Write It

Our summer of film reviews continues as we bring you the latest episode of You Couldn't Write It. This week we're reviewing one of the most well known American Soccer movies of all time - Kicking and Screaming. Will Ferrell isn't quite at the peak of his powers here but he seems to put it all together 45 minutes in to the film. Mike Ditka steals the show with a genuinely great comedic performance. What is it with Americans and running in a triangle shape during football films? What the hell was going on with the referee and the coffee sub-plot? It's the big one, the one you've all been waiting for. It's the Air Bud 3 World Pup review... we're so sorry. Join us as we breakdown probably the worst film either of us have ever seen. Bad lessons, unlikable characters, very little Air Bud, nonsense plotlines and an incredibly damaging cameo from the US Womens National Team. Air Bud 3 has it all.
