Fr: Un jour d'été radieux, Élodie se trouvait dans la ferme de Luc, son petit ami.
En: One radiant summer day, Élodie found herself at Luc's farm, her boyfriend's.
Fr: Le soleil brillait haut dans le ciel, et l'air était empli du doux parfum du foin.
En: The sun was shining high in the sky, and the air was filled with the sweet scent of hay.
Fr: Autour d'eux, les animaux vaquaient à leurs affaires quotidiennes, créant une symphonie d'aboiements, de grincements et de cocoricos.
En: Around them, the animals were going about their daily business, creating a symphony of barks, squeaks, and crowing.
Fr: Élodie aimait cette ferme tranquille, mais aujourd'hui, elle était confrontée à un petit désastre.
En: Élodie loved this peaceful farm, but today, she faced a small disaster.
Fr: Elle avait perdu une chaussure, pas n'importe laquelle — une de ses précieuses chaussures à talons, préférée parmi toutes.

En: Pierre, the farmhand, well accustomed to Élodie's antics, shook his head with a smile.
Fr: « Besoin d'un coup de main, Mademoiselle Élodie ? » proposa-t-il.
En: “Need a hand, Mademoiselle Élodie?” he offered.
Fr: « Non, merci Pierre, j'ai une idée ! » répondit-elle résolument.
En: “No, thank you Pierre, I have an idea!” she replied resolutely.
Fr: Faisant preuve de détermination, Élodie marcha prudemment dans l'abri des poules.
En: Showing determination, Élodie carefully walked into the chickens' shelter.
Fr: Elle tenait un seau de grains dans les bras, espérant que la nourriture distrairait les volatiles assez longtemps pour récupérer sa chaussure.
En: She held a bucket of grain in her arms, hoping the food would distract the birds long enough to retrieve her shoe.
Fr: Elle dispersa les grains autour, et cela fonctionna — les poules oublièrent momentanément le précieux trésor à leurs pieds.
En: She scattered the grain around, and it worked — the hens momentarily forgot the precious treasure at their feet.
Fr: Élodie se précipita vers sa chaussure.
En: Élodie rushed towards her shoe.
