Carmen Lau is a former Hong Kong District Councillor who was forced to resign by the government and later fled Hong Kong to the UK where she lives in exile. She is a pro-democracy and freedom advocate with the Hong Kong Democracy Council and a Freedom Fellow with the Human Rights Foundation and is wanted by the Hong Kong police with a $1 million Hong Kong dollar bounty being offered for information leading to her arrest. We talk about freedom and self-determination and importantly what it means to lose freedoms that you once had.
