๐ช Self-Connection vs. Self-Focus ๐ Self-Connection is: Rooted in awareness, honesty, and compassion Listening to whatโs going on in your heart, body, and mind Inviting God into your thoughts and emotions Asking questions like: โค โWhat am I feeling right now?โ โค โWhat do I need?โ โค โIs this thought aligned with truth?โ It helps you respond instead of react It creates space for growth, healing, and Spirit-led action โจ Self-connection says: โIโm checking in with myself so I can show up in alignment with Godโs truth.โ ๐ช Self-Focus is: Rooted in comparison, control, or perfectionism Obsessed with how you look, perform, or measure up Constantly evaluating yourself through the worldโs standards Leads to self-judgment, anxiety, and striving Keeps you in your own headโand disconnected from God and others ๐ Self-focus says: โI have to fix myself to be enough.โ ๐ก In short: Self-connection leads to surrender and transformation Self-focus leads to shame and striving One is Spirit-led. The other is self-led. If youโre in a season of learning to take care of your health, emotions, or habits, self-connection will help you tune into whatโs really going onโso God can meet you there. We use the worldโs standards to judge ourselves - disconnection *Join our next 12 week Bible Study & Weight-Loss Coaching Class here: https://www.leandramcmullen.com/offers/HzLbJ7Qd *Get my free video series "Stop Overeating Today": https://www.leandramcmullen.com/opt-in *If you'd like to be part of a Christian community of women who are losing weight, click this link to request to join "The Christian Weight-loss Facebook Group" https://www.facebook.com/groups/486364925426436 *Find me on Facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/leandra.mcmullen *Find me on Instagram here: https://www.instagram.com/leandra.mcmullen/
