British singer-songwriter Corinne Bailey Rae burst onto the music scene in 2006 with her soulful single Put Your Records On, earning her the top spot as the predicted breakthrough act of the year in the BBC's Sound of 2006 poll. Her self-titled debut album, released in February 2006, marked a milestone in British music history as the fourth female act to have her first album debut at number one. Her subsequent success earned her numerous award nominations, including three Grammy Awards and two MOBO Awards, culminating in a 2008 Grammy win for Album of the Year.
