confidence moves slow
ego moves fast and thats what we often confuse with real confidence. real confidence is in no rush, it refuses to recklessly rush through things, it knows when, where, and what it's doing ahead of time.this is super random but I actually wrote a poem last year that I feel encapsulates this well...thought I'd share:
the man across from me
something about his silence spoke volumes. we conversed today, deeply, but without need for words. free from the usual obligations to reduce ourselves to the bounds of nouns, adjectives, and verbs though I imagine when he does speak it’s like tunes of slow jazz, a piece of mind that he’s naturally reserved. improvising calmly on God-given cues and collecting notes from many moons he observes. an experience reflected not in speech but how he moves staying on beat despite life's inevitable twists and turns. he wasn't dressed in some costume of custom fitted clothes drenched in the stench of rich colognes, no, his muscular frame said more than enough his scars testified to the wisdom he holds.
