Jamaica Travel Podcast is a series about travelling the island as a resident would: settling into a place, learning its rhythms, then moving to somewhere connected to it. The terrain is mostly mountains with a narrow coastal plain, so routes between Kingston, the interior and the shore matter as much as the destinations. Over the series, he covers Kingston and the Blue Mountains, then moves to Port Esquivel on the south coast and inland to Cockpit Country. He also spends time in Montego Bay, but not only around the tourist strip. Each place is treated as a working landscape of towns, harbours, roads and parishes. The show unfolds over months rather than a single trip. He returns to places as the dry season gives way to rain, and again as the heat moves from the coast into the cooler interior.
