An Answer for the Bite
An Answer for the Bite An Answer for the Serpent, the Thorn, the Fire, and the Sin Numbers 21; Numbers 32–33; Deuteronomy 28; 2 Corinthians 12 The message reminds us that God doesn't always remove the trouble, but He has graciously provided everything we need to trust Him and triumph through it. Throughout Israel's wilderness journey, the Lord was doing more than bringing His people out of Egypt and into the promised land. He was revealing His faithfulness, exposing their hearts, and teaching them to depend upon His wisdom rather than their own understanding. Yet, despite His abundant provision, they repeatedly complained because what God had given them was never enough in their eyes. Their ingratitude caused them to miss the greater lessons He was teaching through His provision. In Numbers 21, Israel's rebellion brought fiery serpents among the people. When they acknowledged their sin, Moses prayed for them, and God provided a bronze serpent upon a pole. Rather than simply removing the serpents, God gave them an answer for the venom. Those who looked in faith lived. This foreshadowed Jesus being lifted up on the cross, where the very sin that brought our condemnation was answered through His substitutionary sacrifice. The power wasn't in the pole but in the God who promised life. Likewise, our victory over sin is not found in ourselves but in continually looking to Jesus. The message also emphasizes that gratitude and faithfulness are essential to our walk with God. Deuteronomy 28 reveals the danger of refusing to serve the Lord with joy and gladness despite His abundant goodness. Numbers 32 reminds us that we are committed to one another until the whole family walk
