With a career spanning multiple genres, this country music icon began his journey in the 1970s playing in local bluegrass bands, eventually landing a spot as lead singer of the soft rock band Pure Prairie League in 1978. His success with the band, including the hit single Let Me Love You Tonight, paved the way for a solo country music career in 1984. Since signing with MCA Nashville in 1989, Gill has become one of the most successful country artists of all time.
