Ru: В заброшенном складе лето устроило свой театр света и тени.
En: In the abandoned warehouse, summer staged its own theater of light and shadow.
Ru: Солнечные лучи проникали через треснувшие окна, рисуя причудливые узоры на пыльных полках и старых балках.
En: Sunbeams penetrated through the cracked windows, painting whimsical patterns on the dusty shelves and old beams.
Ru: Воздух был наполнен запахом древесины и ржавчины.
En: The air was filled with the scent of wood and rust.
Ru: Дмитрий, ботаник с душой авантюриста и немного неуклюжий, держал в руках пакет с черникой.
En: Dmitriy, a botanist with the soul of an adventurer and a bit clumsy, held a bag of blueberries in his hands.
Ru: Он собирался испечь пирог для Ольги, своей коллеги и тайной симпатии.
En: He was planning to bake a pie for Olga, his colleague and secret crush.
Ru: Но судьба решила сыграть шутку: заблудившаяся чайка устремилась прямо к его пакету, сцапала его с клюном и взвилась на одну из балок, высоко над землёй.
En: But fate decided to play a joke: a stray seagull swooped straight for his bag, snatched it with its beak, and soared to one of the beams, high above the ground.
Ru: "Эй, верни!
En: "Hey, give it back!"
Ru: " – воскликнул Дмитрий, отчаявшись, подняв взгляд вверх.
En: Dmitriy exclaimed in despair, looking up.
Ru: Ольга улыбалась в стороне, не замечая бедного Дмитрия.
En: Olga smiled from the side, not noticing poor Dmitriy.
Ru: Она, кажется, была в своей стихии, любуясь забытым складом.
En: She seemed to be in her element, admiring the forgotten warehouse.
Ru: Но Дмитрий знал, что должен вернуть чернику.
En: But Dmitriy knew he had to retrieve the blueberries.
Ru: Он прищурился на чайку, крепко заглохшую на верхотуре.
En: He squinted at the seagull, perched securely up high.
Ru: Проблема была в том, что Дмитрий боялся высоты.
En: The problem was, Dmitriy was afraid of heights.
Ru: "Ты ведь ботаник, а не альпинист," – пробормотал он сам себе, оглядывая полки, которые выглядели отвратительно устаревшими.
En: "You're a botanist, not a climber," he muttered to himself, eyeing the shelves, which looked dreadfully old.
Ru: Но желание показать себя перед Ольгой взяло верх.
En: But the desire to prove himself to Olga took over.
Ru: Дмитрий решительно направился к полкам.
En: Dmitriy resolutely headed toward the shelves.
Ru: Испытывая судьбу, Дмитрий начал подниматься.
En: Tempting fate, Dmitriy began to climb.
Ru: Кожа покрылась мелкой испариной, сердце билось с бешеной скоростью.
En: His skin was covered with a fine sweat, and his heart pounded wildly.
Ru: Шаг за шагом, он поднимался все выше, при этом опасно покачиваясь на каждой неровной ступеньке.
En: Step by step, he climbed higher, dangerously swaying on each uneven rung.
